Structural & General Engineering: A group of highly qualified architects, engineers and other professionals have worked together to present the following features: Structural design parameters are based on codes of American Concrete Institute (ACI) and American Society for Testing Materials (ASTM). Uniform Building Code (UBC) and American Institute of Steel Construction (AISC). The building is framed and shear walked structure of reinforced cement concrete (RCC). The building is safely designed considering all adverse factors. To achieve the calculated strength of the structure 40,000 Psi deformed steel will be used for columns and other structural members along with the picked jhama brick chips 2.5 FM Sylhet sand and good quality cement. Lime Terracing on the roof for water proofing and protecting from overheating. All exterior and interior walls are 5 thick solid Bangla brick construction. The exterior surface of the building will be painted with Snowcem paint. All structural materials including steel, cement, bricks, Sylhet sand and other aggregates are of standard quality and aggregates are screened and washed in respective cases for quality control including laboratory testing. Systematic testing of M.S Rod, cement, sand, concrete cylinders and others works are done from BUET at every stage of construction for quality control. Direct supervision is done at every stage of construction by a team of experienced and qualified civil, electrical and mechanical engineers & architects to ensure highest quality of workmanship. Building frame stiffness is designed for both wind pressure and earthquake as per the standard provision of the building construction code. Sub soil investigation and tests are done by competent soil testing company. The foundation of building is reinforced cement concrete (RCC) as per soil test report. All structural members are reinforced cement concrete. 40 to 60 grades deformed M.S. Rod is used for construction.
